August Chat

Hello everyone,
August the 2nd already. Glad to say there is some blue sky and sunshine here, even though it is cold.
I had a lovely day with little Ms5 on Sunday, but omg so exhausting. How did I survive being a mum?
And then another busy day yesterday. Best thing: I managed to make a dozen filo triangles (spinach, mushroom and pumpkin filling). (and cheeses ofcourse) . They are in the freezer.
No wonder I am moving very slowly today.I do hope you have been able to do some lovely little things that set you up to make the next days easier. It is always SO good when that can be dome.
Good wishes

Hello all
I've been a little quiet of late, trying to dethrone a rather nasty flu that has been ruling my life. I think I'm finally getting the upper hand.
Hoping there are opportunities for rest today for all who need it.
Also those filo triangles sound supper yummy @Dot

Sorry about the flu, @gretch but lovely to hear from you again
Hope you are feeling a bit stronger, @Dot and enjoying the fruits of your labour. My favourite meal is spinach pie (cottage cheese, spinach, cheddar cheese, garlic filling in a pie crust). Mr Artist makes it on special occasions and itβs a family favourite. π₯§
We are having bad storms here and windows are rattling, the roof is creaking, branches are falling and it has been impossible to sleep at night. Iβm very grateful to be indoors though!

Thursday,
Better than yesterday. Big day. Two of my dear sisters are coming to Melbourne and we are having lunch with my daughter to celebrate her birthday. Then my sisters are coming here for more catching up (how I wish I could have got my home tidier).
Well, I will put that aside and make the most of the pleasure of it.@gretch What a beautiful picture. Just the thing.
Oh no that flu has been nasty this year, I am so sorry you have had to contend with it. Yay for getting the upper hand, and having that beautiful picture, and reminder, at hand.@artist55 Ooh storms have been terrible. I hope they are over now.
Thankyou for your kind wishes. Hopefully I got rid of a lot of the dust and made enough space for my visitors to be comfortable.
Haha I am glad to say this is NOT my house.Best wishes all of you

@Dot You got me worried there for a minute! Enjoy your sisters visit.

Hello all from a cold, but storm-free WA
π₯Ά
Iβm thinking of you having a lovely visit with family, @Dot and hoping that you donβt overdo it and that you get to enjoy every minute
Not much going on here today. Iβm resting for now but need to pop out to the shops this afternoon to buy a birthday present for DIL. Mr Artist is driving us and I know what I want so it shouldnβt be too strenuous
I hope everyone gets to do something relaxing today

Hello hello,
What a one-thing-after-another time I am having. Mostly nice things I am glad to say, but I am holding on by my fingertips. Tomorrow should be an easy blob day. Much needed.I did have a lovely time with my sisters. And my house (amazingly) still doesn't look like that picture in my last post
Thanks @Glimmer, hoping you have had some nice times on the weekend. And thanks @artist55 I do hope a good present was easily found and your DIL had/has a lovely celebration. Hooray for Mr Artist chauffeuring.
Best wishes all

Good morning everyone. Itβs getting lighter in the mornings, so we have been waking up to birdsong which is lovely π¦
We bought DIL a pouffe that she had had her eye on and she loved it. She had a happy birthday celebration and I spent most of the evening sitting in the playroom with the little ones so I didnβt have to make too much small talk
Iβve managed to catch a head cold from sniffly students at school though so Iβll have to spend some time this afternoon preparing notes for a relief teacher for tomorrow.
The rest of the day is for resting and enjoying a little bit of sunshine peeping out from behind the clouds.
Have a lovely, sunshiny day everybody. Hoping you are all as well as can be expected.
